Today Toby and I went to the Natural history museum! We walked to preschool to take Eve and then walked and got the bus the rest of the way to the station. It was a very straightforward journey and Toby read The Wishing Chair Again all the way there even through the changes!
Once there Toby remembered the last time we were there and wanted to do the spinning model which demonstrates the spinning of the earth and effect on the oceans (I think!). We went straight to the top level and had a look around, on the way we found out about Earthquakes and Volcanoes.
We visited lots of different areas including Creepy Crawlies, Human Body, Brain and an area about Pregnancy. All were great but Toby’s favourite bit was Perception and Illusions – exactly the kind of thing he enjoys 🙂
I didn’t try to force him to stay any longer than he wanted to do to avoid any tricky behaviour and he was joy walking and asking when we could come back to London as we walked back to South Kensington station!
The journey home was just as uneventful and Toby read the Wishing Chair Again all the way back.
Once at Harold Wood we popped into Co-op where he asked to buy tic tacs for Chris! We went to the library to get recycle bags and Toby found a book about words that he loves and so got that out and was reading it on the way home.
We walked all the way home and once home Toby watched a Numberphiles and VSauce!
Really successful day out!

This was a very good day 🙂
