Toby read Astrosaurs – Sun Snatchers first thing this morning.

It was so rainy that Chris took Eve to preschool on his way to work.

Mike and John were here doing work around the house which was noisy and distracting so Toby did well to do work.

We did a Math Factor session working out whether a number less than 100 is prime using the Sieve of Eratosthenes. Toby completed his 30 day challenge. We then did a session on finding the missing square number which Toby found very easy.

Toby then did Khan Academy – JavaScript. He was using RGB colours and Arcs, we talked about why the RGB values only go up to 255 so we had a look at hexadecimals.

Toby wrote more on the games levels in Notes and started a new one. Creative writing.

He also did some great designs in Pigment.

We walked to collect Eve from preschool, Toby did very well considering if was windy and rainy! We came straight home because of the nasty weather.

Toby had earned a new Astrosaurs book which he read once we got home over lunch.

In the afternoon Toby did lots more programming. Especially good was when Mike took a rectangular piece of wood and made it into curved shelf. He used a metal ruler as a large compass. Toby watched and was impressed, Mike used the jigsaw to cut the wood and gave Toby the off cut. Toby talked about circles and circle paths – thinking about VSauce. He then created a JavaScript programme to demonstrate the shapes he wanted.
