Eve’s preschool was closed today so we were a bit out of normal routine. After taking ages to get ready, we went for a walk through the woods – Toby and Eve had a great time exploring. We went to the playground and street climbing. Eve was not her usual bouncy self as we walked home through the woods and so Toby was trying to encourage her. He was pretending to be asleep and saying ‘Oh, I hope Eve doesn’t run ahead while I just have a nap’. Of course, Eve would giggle and start running and Toby would pretend to wake up and say ‘Oh no!’. It was super sweet and showed emotional intelligence from Toby – he was copying what he had seen me doing but implementing it well and varying it.
Once we got home Toby and Eve did lots of Hama Beads – a great activity now that Eve can manage it and doesn’t find it too fiddly. Toby was talking about which ones Aimee and Erin would like 🙂
Toby read Secret Agent Mummy books and watched some Ted Eds.
Toby and Eve enjoyed stuffitystuff with the little balls which they were pretending were radioactive! Lots of imaginary play.
They both enjoyed k’nex – Toby making a He-man sword and Eve pretending to do weights!
Before bedtime Toby did some more division with remainders – v impressive 🙂
